We all have our own definition of dreamy. Technically, its “having a magical or pleasantly unreal quality.” Now dreaminess has officially taken human form. Meet Sudie and listen to any of her EPs, and you’ll get what we mean. Her latest EP released in October, Prism, is an imaginative five tracks – three songs and two instrumentals – all produced and written by the 25-year-old singer. While we find “dreamy” the best way to describe her music, others would say its experimental, electronic and an eclectic collaboration of personal experiences and forward-thinking ambitions.“I’m the most honest in my music. If you listen to my music, if you really listen and pay attention, you know the most intimate depths of who I truly am,” Sudie says.
The Florida-born creative moved to Texas, then to Atlanta, Dubai and then back to Dallas, which she considers her home base. Since her return, Sudie has dug in her creative roots all over the city appearing in local publications and performing at many of our favorite venues.“The older I get, and the more aware and experienced I become, the more I realize just how important art is to people’s lives. Sometimes, it’s the only thing that keeps us sane in this crazy world,” Sudie admits, and I think most of us can agree.
Sudie is forecasting more music coming our way in 2017. Stay tuned for the latest from K-SWISS’ most recent girl crush and catch her live at ART CON 12, on Saturday, November 12, at Cedars Union. Get your tickets now!
